The Paper Trail Method
Last updated: 19 July 2026
The Paper Trail Method is operated by ThePaperTrailMethod ("we", "us"), based in the United Kingdom. Contact: support@thepapertrailmethod.com. Our postal address is available on request and is provided on all payment receipts. These pages set out the terms on which we sell our digital products, how refunds work, and how we handle personal data.
The Paper Trail Method toolkit and the Records Reading Kit are digital, downloadable educational products: document templates, guides and worked examples for pursuing your own housing complaint. Delivery is by instant download following payment. Payments are processed by Stripe, whose own terms also apply to the payment transaction; delivery is by download from this website.
The products are education, not legal advice, and we are not solicitors. We do not review individual cases, act on your behalf, contact your landlord for you, manage or refer claims, or take any share of any outcome. We are not a claims management company and do not provide claims management services. The products cover social housing (council and housing association) tenants in England. Nothing in the products creates a professional-client relationship of any kind.
The case studies in the products are real and documented. They are not a promise about your case. Whether and how your landlord responds, and what outcome you achieve, depends on your circumstances, your facts, and your landlord. We guarantee the quality of the materials and the refund terms below, not any particular result.
Your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the products for your own case (or the case of a member of your household). You may print and adapt the templates for that purpose. You may not resell, republish, share, redistribute, or use the products to provide services to others, whether paid or free. All intellectual property in the products remains ours.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the products is limited to the price you paid. We are not liable for losses arising from how you use, adapt or send the templates, or from decisions you take in your case. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for digital content to be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live in the UK.
Send the first letter. If within 30 days of your purchase you have not received a written response from your landlord that changes your position, email us at support@thepapertrailmethod.com, keep the toolkit, and we will refund you in full. No questions, no forms. This guarantee applies to the core toolkit and, if purchased, the Records Reading Kit.
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you normally have a 14-day right to cancel a digital content purchase. By choosing immediate download at checkout, you consent to immediate supply and acknowledge that the statutory 14-day cancellation right ends once the download begins. This does not reduce your rights under our own guarantee above, which is broader, and it does not affect your statutory rights in respect of faulty or misdescribed digital content, which apply regardless.
Refunds are made to your original payment method via Stripe, normally within 14 days of your request.
